My Qualifications
I was born and raised in Hong Kong and was blessed to have traveled the world extensively throughout my childhood. I moved to America in 1980 and later became a U.S. citizen in 1999.
I attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City and received an associate’s degree. I was then invited to perform in their 1-year postgraduate production company. I have a B.A. in psychology and have completed some postgraduate work in social work.
In 1990 I volunteered to be a big sister in a wonderful program called Friends First. I was deeply influenced by the extraordinary people with whom I worked and it seemed natural to transition from a volunteer into what became a 16-year career.
My transition to coaching also happened organically. It is something I’ve been doing informally my whole life and I just never knew there was a title for it. One day a dear childhood friend handed me an article written about life coaching and said, “Isn’t this what you do?” It was one of those life-defining moments and I immediately set out to discover how one goes about becoming a life coach.
I searched long and hard for the right place to do my training and in the end I chose the International Coaching Academy. Their certification process is taught by dynamic and dedicated coaches who are determined that this profession be well represented. I am also a member of the International Coaching Federation, the regulatory governing body for life coaching.
I have been married for thirteen years and am the mother of two young boys.
My Passion
Allow me to begin by acknowledging and celebrating your quest for personal growth! As a coach it is my joy and privilege to watch clients discover that they are more powerful and capable than they ever imagined. |
