My Qualifications

I was born and raised in Hong Kong and was blessed to have traveled the world extensively throughout my childhood.  I moved to America in 1980 and later became a U.S. citizen in 1999.

I attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City and received an associate’s degree.  I was then invited to perform in their 1-year postgraduate production company.  I have a B.A. in psychology and have completed some postgraduate work in social work.

In 1990 I volunteered to be a big sister in a wonderful program called Friends First.  I was deeply influenced by the extraordinary people with whom I worked and it seemed natural to transition from a volunteer into what became a 16-year career.

My transition to coaching also happened organically.  It is something I’ve been doing informally my whole life and I just never knew there was a title for it.  One day a dear childhood friend handed me an article written about life coaching and said, “Isn’t this what you do?”  It was one of those life-defining moments and I immediately set out to discover how one goes about becoming a life coach.

I searched long and hard for the right place to do my training and in the end I chose the International Coaching Academy.  Their certification process is taught by dynamic and dedicated coaches who are determined that this profession be well represented.  I am also a member of the International Coaching Federation, the regulatory governing body for life coaching.

I have been married for thirteen years and am the mother of two young boys.

My Passion

Allow me to begin by acknowledging and celebrating your quest for personal growth! As a coach it is my joy and privilege to watch clients discover that they are more powerful and capable than they ever imagined.

It is my resolute belief that:

  • Happiness is the birthright of every human being.

  • You matter and you are worth it.

  • There is enough for every human being.  Enough love, enough wealth, enough success, enough empathy and kindness, enough space.

  • Your thoughts are one of the most powerful tools 100% within your control.  Learning to become conscious and responsible for your thoughts is life altering.

  • Compassionate support and acknowledgement make any goal you set attainable.

In a sense being coached is like an awakening.  You realize it’s time to stop waiting and hoping for things to change.  You take responsibility and you make the necessary changes and you take the necessary actions to live a life of happiness and success.

Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.”  It is my joy and pleasure to cheer you on toward the passion filled life you really want.
